Happy Novembeer!!
Novembeer is upon us, and it’s bringing amazing weather and tasty beers with it. As the days get warmer, more and more pilsners and sours are making their way into drinkers hands and glasses, and this months cube is no exception.
We’ve managed to get our hands on some cracking beers this month, including sours from Gweilo, 10 Toes Brewing and Stomping Ground, an imperial pilsner thanks to a collaboration between Golden Hills and Burnley Brewing, the latest limited release from Deeds, a double black IPA from Woolshed Brewing, a crisp Mexican styled lager from Shepparton Brewing as well as the first packaged release from AVNGE brewing.
I’d love to hear what you think about the cube contents, what you’d like to see in future cubes or any breweries that you think we should hit up - feel free to sling me an email at cheers@mrmods.beer
Mad love and stay safe.
Love Rob x
Tasting Notes
Gweilo - Rainbow Sherbert Sour 6% ABV
Glass Style - Tulip Glass Serving Temp - 6-8°
What They Say - Rainbow Sherbet Sour takes you on an intriguing journey through sweet and sour. Raspberry puree, lemon zest and the kettle sour base combine to deliver a sharp tang which is nicely balanced by a sweet, satisfying body. Best enjoyed with fruity, sour lace sweets from your childhood!
What We Say - One of my closest friends introduced me to this beer back in May when we made a quick trek west for a few days (Cheers Ohwee xx) and when I saw that a wholesaler on the East Coast had some in stock, I jumped at the opportunity to include it in a Craft Cube. Remember the Fruit Tingle lollies from your childhood? Well this is the adult version! Fruity, tangy and just all round amazing, this is about to become your new favourite beer. Perfect for a summers day, kick back, put on some music and enjoy.

Stomping Ground - Raspberry Smash 4.2% ABV
Glass Style - Tulip Glass Serving Temp - 4-6°
What They Say - Look who’s back to stay! Raspberry smash is now a permanent fixture on the Stomping Ground line up and we couldn’t be happier to welcome it to the family, sitting alongside its year-round Smash siblings, Passionfruit and Watermelon. Packed with real Aussie raspberries, this refreshingly tart gose bursts with berry aromas and a pleasantly puckering finish.
What We Say - Looks like it’s a raspberry soft drink. Smells like a raspberry soft drink. Tastes like a raspberry soft drink with a decent little twang at the back. Goes down WAY too easy.

10 Toes Brewing - Cherry Berry Choc Sundae Sour 4% ABV
Glass Style - Tulip Glass Serving Temp - 4-6°
What They Say - Sour ale meets ice cream parlour! Cherry Berry Choc Sundae is a sweet and sour delight loaded with cherries, raspberries, cacao nibs, vanilla and a lick of lactose for a luxuriously creamy finish. Get a culture kick and consume with gusto!
What We Say - Well colour me impressed. Before I even poured this into a glass, the aroma of chocolate and berries had invaded my nostrils and I was hooked. The addition of lactose gave it a nice creamy mouthfeel which, when mixed with the chocolate, cherry, raspberry and vanilla, almost had me believing that I had just consumed the delightful melted mess found at the bottom of an ice-cream sundae.

Golden Hills x Burnely Brewing - Imperial Pilsner 7% ABV
Glass Style - Pilsner Glass Serving Temp - 6-8°
What They Say - The classic German style Pilsner has been given a new world lift with heavy additions of New Zealand hops to import characters of stone fruit, grape and cut grass.
What We Say - Sadly my can had a pinhole in it which was hidden under the label and resulted in a lovely puddle of Imperial Pilsner on my floor, however I transferred the remaining beer to a glass and it looked and smelled amazing! A lovely light golden colour with a tight, white head and a fruity/grassy aroma. Despite being a tad warm, it delivered a crisp, malty palate with a slight fruit hit. If you dig this beer when you try it, shoot me a review along with a pic and I’ll whack it up on our Instagram account!

AVNGE Brewing - Hopbotomy IPA 7% ABV
Glass Style - IPA Glass Serving Temp - 6-8°
What They Say - With a pale malt backbone, this West Coast style IPA is loaded with classic American hops. Smooth bitterness, combined with citrus and pine aromas makes this IPA both crisp and smashable.
What We Say - To be brutally honest with you, James from AVNGE has nailed it with his description. This is the first release from AVNGE and it is a corker of a WCIPA - a well balanced mix of citrus and pine both on the nose and in the palate, with a solid bitterness at the back of the palate, this is WAY too smashable for a 7%er…

Deeds Brewing - Hive Mind DDH NEIPA 7.7% ABV
Glass Style - Stemmed Glass Serving Temp 6-8°
What They Say - I am Legion, for we are many. In concert we are greater than the sum of our parts. Hive Mind is a DDH NEIPA bringing four malts and four hops to do something that they could not achieve on their own. This spritz, rich, golden liquid has a balanced sweetness highlighting citrus flavours, all backed with a mild dankness. All hail the hive mind.
What We Say - If Deeds ever brewed a Fiscal Damage Lite, I dare say it would be exactly like this. Haze for days, a citrus heavy nose and palate with a noticeable dankness that lingers like that one mate who just doesn’t want to go home after the bbq and hangs around helping with the cleaning up.

Woolshed Brewing - Great Southern Trendkiller Double Black IPA 7.2% ABV
Glass Style - IPA Glass Serving Temp - 6-8°
What They Say - We do beer differently down south. Dark roasted malts shred into to an aggressive hopping schedule, that sees simcoe, chinook & cascade hops punch you in the face with a vulgar display of power.
What We Say - Take black coffee, burnt fruit toast and a little pine, blend it all together with a few metal CD’s from the mid 90’s and you’re getting close. Dig Black IPA’s? Then you’ll dig this.

Shepparton Brewery - Sheppxico Lager 5.1% ABV
Glass Style - Pint Glass Serving Temp - 4-6°
What They Say - Crisp & sweet to start off with and then a burst of hops for the finish. The every-day-beer for the every-day-person.
What We Say - 1- Wait for a sunny day. 2- Mow the lawn/wash the car/do something outside. 3- Drink this and enjoy how easily it goes down. Crisp and sweet? Check. Easy to drink? Double check.

Mornington Peninsula Brewing - Brown Ale 5% ABV
Glass Style - Pint Glass Serving Temp - 6-8°
What They Say - Mornington Brown uses premium malts to deliver wonderful rich flavours of chocolate, nuts and toffee with aromas of brown sugar and raisins. This luxurious ale pours deep brown with hints of red and is elegantly full-bodied, smooth and moreish.
What We Say - MPB’s Brown Ale is like the old shirt that you just don’t want to get rid of - it’s comfortable and you know exactly what to expect. Burnt toffee, that biscuity malt goodness and a subtle hint of chocolate, this is a great beer for those cooler spring evenings.
